Honey Pots – No more sticky hands!

We eat honey just about every morning with our Bircher Muesli. An ongoing challenge is keeping the outside of the honey jar stick-free. This involves lots of spoon twirling and swift wrist action, acrobatics that are tricky any time of day, but especially early in the morning before breakfast.

Brad Isaac of Achieve-It! has discovered a somewhat obvious (if you’re Winnie the Pooh) solution: the Sili Gourmet Honey Jar. His review is on his blog:

As you can see it looks nice, it’s got a stainless steel handle and lid combo. The dipper is made of silicone. There is rubber around the bottom of the lid to help seal the container. It just feels good to use.

My only concern with it is there are little spouts on either side of the jar top. I don’t think the seal works well enough to cover those gaps. But honey is a weird food – said to never spoil if sealed in a container. So only time will tell if these little gaps allow for spoilage.
