Best Thanksgiving Advice Ever

If I can’t wear stretchy waist pants and a blouse-y shirt on thanksgiving and eat until my stomach is distended and sore, I just don’t feel alive. There’s something so blissfully Roman about it. It’s one time I avoid half-assing it. I’m hoping to get gout.

That’s some of the most sensible goals I’ve read all holiday season, courtesy of kelly at Fitness Fixation. Who else is sick of reading articles about surviving the holidays? I mean, why is it so hard to enjoy yummy food and Christmas parties? Is the prospect of putting on a few pounds so scary that we can’t enjoy ourselves?

Kelly offers some of the best advice for the holidays:

  1. get a challenge, heh heh
  2. get in extra exercise
  3. avoid awkward social situations and family members who make you feel small and angry, which might be all of them

So hole yourself up on the treadmill and emerge in the new year. Or not. I’m just going to skip dessert myself.
