Agree that my mind is most attentive first thing in the morning. But as Laura notes, the body IS stiffer. It takes me quite a while to warm up into it. But what a nice way to warm up into the day.

I agree 100%! Although not always feasible for everyone, perhaps, doing yoga in the morning before getting the day started has been my key to consistent practice. It really clears the head and gets out the kinks in the body from sleeping all night. It's a wonderful soothing and yet energizing way to begin the day. Too many temptations or distractions come up later in the day, at least in my experience. Occasionally, I have to switch to the late afternoon for my practice. But, it's not quite the same. The only slight drawback to morning practice is that the body is stiffer immediately after a night's sleep.

Mornings are a great time to get in your yoga practice. Many of the Indian sages regard morning as the most optimal time to complete your yoga practice. Your mind is at its clearest and practicing in the morning, ensures you that you’ll get your yoga in before the day’s distractions gobble up your freedom.
